The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at EY, I developed at a pace that I did not think was possible. EY really involve the interns, we really do make a difference and learn a lot about our field. I’d definitely recommend it for any undergraduate looking to reach that next level
Whilst working at EY I was very respected by my managers and seniors, they put a lot of trust and respect into me and my development during my time at EY. EY is a very diverse and cultured place, somewhere that is great for learning. I can vouch that as an undergraduate with little experience, I was guided towards becoming a professional
EY will give support wherever needed, however they really do want us to be innovators and leaders, so I would recommend using your own initiative first. However, whenever I needed help or guidance I did not hesitate to ask, and the response was amazing!
I was extremely busy, but my seniors made sure that I gained the most out of my internship. They allowed me to get really involved in the project work but also remembered to involve me in intern activities and side of desk work. There is a great great balance here at EY when it comes to development, social networking and progression.
I was given a lot of responsibility, something I really enjoyed, although I was out in the deep end straight away, I always had my seniors there to help me, they never hesitated or rejected. I think being given so much responsibility, really gives you an understanding of work life in the big 4, so when you come back you are prepared.
The skills learnt at EY will definitely help towards me achieving a high grade in my degree. You become much more disciplined, Independent and really learn how to manage your time to the best of your ability.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was always so friendly and diverse, everyone here at EY really enjoys their time and that’s because we are given so much freedom and flexibility. You really are your own leader here, your own innovator.
Really big shout out to the recruitment team and talent team, especially Liz! They made this such an eventful and knowledge packed internship, it was smoother than butter!
I can 100% say that EY invest a lot into the interns. We are in a sense their future workers, so they really do train us up and give us as much of an upper hand that they can give us.
Company Parties/Events
As in intern you are given the opportunity to prove yourself, and everyone at the end has the possibility of receiving an offer based on their performance.
The Culture
Yes, there were a lot of social events and this meant that every intern was connected throughout, it made it feel very homely. The social events also had experienced seniors, managers and partners.
Responsible.
I don’t know, I was sleeping.
Yes, there were socials pretty much every week, usually twice a week. So there is definitely out of work activities to get involved in.
