The Role
Overall, I found the culture within EY fantastic! It was a place to really be myself and seek out opportunities that suit my skills or ones I’m passionate about. The work environment was quite suitable to work efficiently and my managers were all welcoming and always there to answer questions (no matter how many!) and provides timely feedback.
My colleagues were very mindful of my experience level, and were very patient with me (as I tend to ask lots of questions!), in fact some actually liked my curiosity. They always guided me through work I’m completing for the first time and asked me challenging questions to stimulate my thinking and creativity which was quite motivating!
No matter the seniority level, there’s always someone to help and people are happy to take time off their busy days only to provide some insights and advice :) My supervisors always made sure to provide feedback on the quality of my deliverables and my work ethic while making sure to provide development areas too.
I was quite busy pretty much every day! Sometimes it got too busy, but it’s only as busy as you want it to be. I tend to like to stay busy so I always asked for more work and more I was known amongst managers, the more I got booked to do more work which was exciting!
Given the fact that I was an intern, I couldn’t believe the level of responsibility I was given! I think people in EY really trust your capabilities, and once you’ve done something really well you are guaranteed to get more work with greater responsibilities. Responsibilities ranged from simply rolling over previous working papers to completing a whole future plan for a clients to integrate their systems together. Opportunities are endless if you ask for them!
EY’s investing tremendously in trainings. I’ve learnt two programming languages in only 6 weeks, managed to use them extensively, and used various softwares I’ve only heard of in such a short time. It was quite rewarding to be able to learn so quickly because of all the online trainings available to us!
The Company
The office was fantastic! With a magestic view of Tower Bridge, cosy chairs and couches in breakout areas, you can’t help but stay calm even in stressful times. As for collaboration, there are booths everywhere with screens where it’s easy to work in teams. People were always happy to help out, welcoming and always smiling to you :)
I think it was organised quite well, making sure we’ve all got work to start with but flexible enough for us to seek out opportunities so we get a real insight onto working life after graduation. This independence really helped me figure out the culture within EY and to network with people.
It’s unbelievable how much EY is investing in interns! We’ve got thousands of online/ classroom-based trainings available, ranging from presentation skills to complete Python bootcamps, the opportunities to learn are endless! We also had top quality equipments. Laptops were great for creativity, as they had touch screens with pens for collaboration and it was so easy to request software.

I would love to return back to EY as the culture in the company is irreplacable. I’ve worked in a few other companies before but there was notning like the kind of support and networking opportunities I found in EY. The fact that seniors are supportive is also quite appealing as we may feel overwhelmed as graduates at first.
The Culture
The summer internship team organised a few social events throughout the internships and we also had a CSR day where we helped a charity in the park for a whole day making the greenery prettier which was such a breath of fresh air. It was really wasy to meet with interns from across service lines as the socials included all.
All interns were invited to volunteer with a chatity for a whole day. It was great to see EY taking us out for a day for team building activities, I learnt a lot about gardening! My team also organised a few social events throughout the internship for us interns to get to know us more and it was so easy to speak to partners and get their insights onto working in EY
