The Role
The work was very varied and this allowed me to have a greater selection of experiences over the 10 weeks. You are given a lot of responsibility very early on which is incredibly rewarding.
My colleagues were all very approachable and thankful for the work that I produced for them. They give you the assistance that you need so don’t be hesitant to ask any questions you may have
When you start you are inevitably going to have a lot of questions. Everyone in my ITRA department were extremely approachable and they took time out of their schedule to help me clarify my understanding around new content
I feel it is very engagement dependent but for the majority of my engagements I was busy throughout the working day, sometimes you have to stay at work longer but EY are very flexible in terms of working hours.
We were given a lot of responsibility from the very start of our internship. This was reflected in being able to go to client meetings in the first week. They also give you a lot of confidence that you can complete important work.
I feel the skills I developed will be priceless when I go back to uni and when I continue my career in finance. It is refreshing to be given so much practical context to the theory I have studied at uni.
The Company
The office had a very collaborative atmosphere and every colleague I interacted with was more than happy to help. The atmosphere give you a lot of confidence and makes it an exciting place to work.
The placement was incredibly well organised. We were always kept busy with a variety of different client engagements. Help was always easily accessible whenever we need it.
The firm have invest a lot in is. Especially in terms of time. For example lots of senior colleagues and even partners took time out of their schedules to help us and answer any queries we might have had.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
They are a very appealing graduate prospect and the perfect catalyst to start a challenging yet exciting career at one of the big 4 financial service firms
The Culture
Yes there was a great social environment among colleagues. Staff interacted a lot with interns including weekly drinks and other events
Cost is very expensive but you can get by if you really try. My flat was £280/week but I was lazy and wanted to enjoy my 6 weeks as much as possible. I would recommend putting everything you have into the 6 weeks
Nightlife is good in Canary Wharf. There are numerous decent bars which offer a variety of atmospheres for different occasions
not exactly sure. Apart from going for drinks there wasn’t much else advertised to the interns but I’m sure if you wanted to organise something you could
