The Role
I got a clearer idea of audit and the world of financial services.
Everyone was supportive from day 1, keen to give you feedback and help you develop.
All questions were answered there and then - everything was explained clearly and thoroughly.
It was a slow start, but once you started working, more and more tasks were allocated.
From client meetings to actual audit procedures, by the end you were really a part of the team.
I now have a better understanding of accounting concepts and their applicability to real work.
The Company
Everyone was chatty and enthusiastic, but also hardworking and dedicated to their work.
We were met by our councellor and buddies, received weekly round-up emails and had different activities set up, such as councelling calls and partner shadowing.
They worked hard to give us as much exposure to the firm as possible, and we got to work with a variety of EY staff.
Company Parties/Events
Everyone was keen to give timely feedback, and all the work you did was highly valued by the team.
The Culture
Every Friday there were after-work drinks. There were also weekly sports clubs.
I was based in Bristol, so it was possible to walk everywhere. Not cheap, but also not London prices.
Bristol is a student town so there was always lots to do!
Work took up most of the day, but there was always time in the evenings.
