The Role
I felt I was given great opportunities and a good insight
Often there was no work for me to do even when I asked several people so I wasn’t able to show my abilities often in order to be valued
There we’re plenty of people available to guide me and answer my questions. My councillor was not always available but other managers/associated helped a lot.
There were many days where I was given no tasks to conduct at all, even when I asked. I spent a majority of my time working on my presentation, although there were only so many hours I could spend on this. I understand that I can’t do lots of the tasks that other collueges can do as I am not trained, but I lacked stimulation a lot of the time.
I worked closely with clients on my own several times, and conducted a cycle count on my own. I was allowed to be in important meetings. I was also allowed to handle documents that are very important and secure.
The skills will allow me to apply myself in my degree as I have worked so hard at this internship, I feel inspired to work harder than ever at university in my final year.
The Company
Great - the people were fantastic.
I was impressed with the organisation. Others have complained about certain things regarding organisation but I feel that these things are irrelevant and not detrimental.
I was taught how to do things by colleueges when given tasks, which was helpful. There wasn’t much in the way of online learning specific to audit. Coming from a non-financial background, it would be good to have access to some basic intro to audit at the start - although you pick things up quickly when thrown into it.
Flexi Time
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Working for EY is an exciting prospect.
The Culture
There were social events I could attend within the office (leaving dos), but between the interns not much happened in the way of social activity as we were all segregated at different clients for the duration of the internship
Really expensive.
Poor
If i had stayed for longer or was in the London office, I feel that these oppertunities would be vast.
