The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt like a valuable member of the team. Did some important work and wasn’t around to only make teas and coffees! I worked with a variety of clients and was able to gain an insight to how EY operate on a day to day basis
Extremely well. I thought I was going to be a nuisance and an annoyance to the team around me however they were more supportive than I could ever ask for! There was only one occasion where one of my team weren’t able to make time for me beyond that it was great!
I was given multiple opportunities to ask questions, give and receive feedback etc. I was always given time to have situations or queries explained which helped massively with my development. The time and effort that my team invested in me was incredible. Having the right counsellor really aided my time with EY.
Most days I had various tasks to keep me busy. There were a few days where I had very little to do as there was no work available in my service line. It would be excellent to have a facility to explore other service lines and do some work in other areas when this happened
The amount of work that I was able to do within the six weeks was staggering and the variety of work and clients was incredible! I felt like a major influence on some of the projects I was involved in with having the safety net of senior members of staff reviewing my work
The professionalism, communication and drive that I have developed will hopefully serve me well throughout my career. I really value the broad scope of work I managed to partake in during my EY internship as it’s allowed me to meet and connect with such a wide range of clients, coworkers and now friends too
The Company
The office was a very quiet and only a few chances to socialise throughout the day however the social events were an excellent opportunity to branch out - I was really impressed to even see partners attending. It shows they really value interns and see us as part of EY’s future
For the most part things generally were quite smooth. Some events could have been more effectively communicated and organised however I can’t imagine it being easy to organise several events all across the county simultaneously. The experience felt a bit disjointed when communicating across departments again this can’t be easy
