The Role
My placement experience has been very enjoyable. The best part of the job is the people around me. Everyone is very friendly and ready to help whenever I need any. I get to work on the production code which allows me to learn how things work in a business environment and contribute towards it, allowing me to make a global impact.
My colleagues are like my friends. Everyone here is super friendly and very cooperative. I have received help whenever I needed it and they treat me as their equals while explaining things to me. I have been a part of all the important as well as non-important meetings where I am able to share my opinions. This allowed me to feel like a Full Time Employee.
10/10 for my manager. He has been very humble and supportive. He explains things to me that I have found quite challenging at my work and outside things that I have found to be interesting. He had also helped me a lot at the start with my work management since I did not have a clue about how I should prioritise tasks.
I am usually busy. There is always something to do. There haven't been any times when I didn't have anything to do. If I am not working on a feature, I would be assigned to fix a bug or document the feature I worked on. Since I was treated like a FTE, I had been assigned tasks like an FTE.
I am treated like an FTE during my placement, so I have as much responsibility as an FTE. Since I have been working on the production code, I am responsible for making sure that my code passes all the requirement as well as making sure that I implement effective bug fixes.
I am a Computing student and this placement has allowed me to expand my skills as well as experiences in this field. I have not only been able to lay my hands on production level code allowing me to understand how things work in a professional environment, but also have been able to learn about the programming techniques which were not taught at university.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office is very friendly. Collaboration is highly encouraged and everyone is very helpful. We also have social outings which help us to strengthen our friendship. Whenever there is an issue, everyone gets together to fix it rather than finding heads to put the blame on.
My placement has been well organised in my opinion. I started off with small tasks which allowed me to understand the massive codebase bit by bit, finally taking on a big feature when I had a sound understanding. Sometimes a few things are out of place but they get resolved very quickly.
I can tell that I have improved my technical as well as non-technical abilities during the placement period. I have been assigned a manager with whom I have regular conversations to discuss my progress as well as how I am finding it here. He helps me understand my strengths and weaknesses and provides me guidance to improve myself.

I would be very delighted to be offered a job position here. I particularly enjoy the harmony and cooperative environment which I think will help me improve myself while enjoying the work.
The Culture
There is a very good scene amongst the interns within our studio. We hangout a lot within the work hours and go out after work sometimes. We also interact with the interns outside our studio within the organisation. We attend social events once a week to catch up with each other and have a good time.
Since it is in the heart of London, food and going out is fairly expensive. But the interns have been subsidised so those socials are fairly cheap. However, the ones not organised by the organisation are not. A decent portion of food will cost you at least £15 and so on.
There aren't any clubs and bars that open till late around the area. We have to go a bit further away when we are going out.
We do not have a lot of activities outside of work. However, people are making attempts to get a society/club started for board games, public speaking, etc
