The Role
All interns are placed in the same building (accommodation) which allow us to get to know each other outside of working hours. At work, we were all placed quite spread out. There's hardly more than 2 interns in a team, which I find it good as you have more time and chances interacting with the employers there.
My team recognises my achievements, regardless of how trivial they are. We have huddle every day, sharing about our mood, priorities for the day & week, and successes. I feel comfortable speaking with people in the team. They are very easy going and open minded. Interns have charity challenge, nothing got to do with my colleagues but they still show support and cares.
Full support. I am beyond grateful to have my line manager throughout this internship. We have weekly catch-ups on how am I progressing, in terms of career AND PERSONAL development, which is really good. He takes immediate action on whatever have been discussed after our catch-ups and he actually listen to what I really want, guide me throughout my internship.
There are days where I had lots of things to do, but its no rush, it depends on myself. I think how busy you are depends on yourself, if you take lots of initiatives talking to people, you will learn a lot. You are also free to request for work shadowing in other departments, which is really good especially for those who are still unclear which path do they want to take in their career.
I am doing something that have never been done in the team, or anywhere in the company before, which is quite a big responsibility because it's related to the business side. It is challenging because nobody knows what to do, we are looking for approaches from different perspectives, which made me feel valued.
I think it's communication. Communication in terms of verbal and writing. Learning how to write reports, how brief and concise they should be. Learning to write reports with minimum technical terms inside, as simple as possible for top managements to read and understand with minimum efforts. We were also given lots of online training like how to brand yourself, how to work in a team and etc. I learn how to lead a team, and work in a team as well.
The Company
Quite quiet when everyone's busy but lively whenever it's almost end of the day! Different team have different atmosphere and working style, it all depends on your team to be fair.
The team involved in managing the interns are quite okay, but they always missed out emails and stuff. You have to keep on sending them emails reminding them whatever you need. Not very systematic sometimes, messages unclear, especially when they group us in the charity challenge programme. But overall still okay
Lots of online trainings, we got free account for certain training websites too. We have got online books to learn about people management, skills, attitude, economics and etc. We also got account to learn technical skills including excel, photoshop, marketing, and etc. Quite a wide range in there for you to learn if you like to learn it through video tutorials. But I still prefer in-hand training. I don't really like learning through videos, especially online.

still okay... whats good is they put us into leadership role in the internship and graduate scheme then we need to re-apply again after the graduate scheme, which I don't understand why would they do that. salary wise, so-so. work life balance is definitely a thing here. they practise agile working.
The Culture
yes definitely, provided you are staying together with the interns. the best thing I like abt my internship is to get to know so many people from all around. you will never know who you meet, so just go and mix with the ppl! go out of your comfort zone!
Lloyd's provided us with accommodation, so we saved up a lot as you don't have to pay for the bills as well. We have kitchen to cook, with pots and pans, oven, microwave. very well arranged! there are cafes which are cheaper than London, but in terms of groceries, it's the same as London. Scotland's Edinburgh is equivalent to England's London.
I live 40 min walk away from the office, so idk how's the nightlife in around the office. but yh it depends what kind of nightlife you expecting,. If its partying, clubbing then well, there's quite a few places to go. it's quite cheap if you enter before certain time.
there's fringe festival, international book festival, foodies festival and etc. loads and loads of fun around.
