The Role
Was enjoyable due to charity challenge and other interns but wasn't given enough stimulating work by team.
Was not given much stimulating work and felt like they could not be bothered to include me.
Not much. Most of the support was given by team members and interns.
Generally busy with charity work but not with actual work.
Most of my responsibility was charity work related. Not much work-related responsibility.
Improved time management, relationship management and organisation a lot.
The Company
Was a friendly atmosphere.
The team only found out they were having an intern the day I arrived. Felt as though they were trying to find work for me throughout the internship.
Paid for sites such as Lynda.com which was useful. They did try to encourage personal development. I did a lot of shadowing.
Will probably get on to the graduate scheme. This depends on how much I enjoy my second internship with the company because the first one has been neither good nor bad.
The Culture
Meeting other interns was one of the highlights of the whole placement. We all lived together and commuted together and had lunch together etc. Without them the experience would have been a lot less fun.
Not too expensive because we lived up North. Was cheaper than London definitely. We were being paid a fair amount so were able to live fairly comfortably.
Was ok but students had gone home so it was a lot less social than it could have been. It was decent though and there are plenty of things to do in a city as big as Leeds.
Did lots of shadowing but not much in the way of charity work. I did participate in the charity challenge but this was more of a compulsory, developmental thing.
