The Role
The people I have worked with have all been fantastically kind and understanding, and have really helped me get a grasp of what it is like to work at LBG. However, although accommodation was provided, it was in a very inconvenient location, and many of the tasks the interns are forced to do seem to waste the precious time we have here.
I was immediately included in many team meetings and introduced to all members of my team, who were all really pleasant to talk to. Some members of senior management were not quite as pleasant to talk to, but most were extremely amicable.
When I was assigned a task, I was given good guidance about what was expected and how I could best achieve this. However, my team were often too busy to provide much support in terms of introducing me to other areas of the business, and as the team I was placed does not particularly perform any functions that I would be keen to investigate as a career, this was quite frustrating.
Often Wednesdays and Thursdays were extremely busy, as my line manager is only in the office on these two days, so would set tasks of substantial size on Wednesday morning where the deadline was Thursday CoP. The other three days of the week were normally painfully slow.
Practically none. I have only performed one task that I believe may be of any consequence to any part of the business, but the work I produced was taken and reformatted, then presented as the work of another team member.
The skills I have gained will not really help me in my degree, and I have not really received any training. I have learned some skills (such as how to use MS Outlook) that will be useful beyond my degree, but that is still years away.
The Company
Other areas of the office seemed to be more fun. I was in a small team that worked in a completely different area to the rest of the floor in the office, so often was often left out of larger team meetings. I don't think other interns were quite as isolated but that was my personal experience.
My line manager was only informed I would be arriving the working day before I did actually arrive. As a result, many of the IT resources I required did not arrive for weeks, and many of the other interns had a similar experience or worse.
A few individuals have shown interest improving my leadership skills, which has been very helpful. Apart from this, I have received no training or development, other than painful powerpoints and videos to read and watch, some with a recommended completion time of 4+ hours.

I would feel comfortable approaching any member of my team to speak about employment, but it is not particularly a sector I would choose to go into, and it has been very hard to network with those elsewhere in the business.
The Culture
No. The accommodation provided was comfortable but there were no particular social spaces, and it was a long way from any form of nightlife, and buses were few and far between.
Not too bad but not fantastic. Not London prices but nothing is cheap.
Bristol nightlife is fantastic and I would recommend to anyone, but it was very difficult to access from the provided accommodation.
Hardly any. There was an invitation to 5-a-side footy that got to interns in week 6 but no one else from my building (of 5000 people) attended, so it was hard to network with no introductions.
