The Role
My internship has proven to be the best professional achievement I have experienced so far. I have not only learned from experienced professionals, but I have also enjoyed the company of like-minded individuals and developed friendships with the other interns.
Everyone in my department and particularly my team has been extremely supportive, approachable and friendly. Feedback is always accompanied by the idea that my ideas and my voice matter, which as an intern is something to be very proud of and happy about.
My line managers, together with everyone else in the division, have offered me extensive guidance from the beginning of my placement, outlining exactly what my tasks and objectives are and ensuring that I get the chance to ask whatever questions I need in order to reach my targets.
There was a perfect balance between work at the desk, networking, non-departmental projects, as well as general training and access to relevant resources. I was positively challenged on a daily basis but did not feel overwhelmed or stressed.
I was given tasks that are actually helping the business, as opposed to just 'safe' or 'routine' ones, and I felt like I really contributed to the team.
I believe that as a direct result of my internship, I am now not only more knowledgeable and skilled, but also more confident as a presenter, as a communicator, and I have a much better idea of what I want from my future career.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office was always friendly, everyone had a very positive outlook and the environment was just beyond my expectations.
Everything from socials run by HR to client meetings I was involved in, was very well organised. There were clear goals we knew from the beginning, constant support and feedback from relevant colleagues, and there was never a moment I didn't know what I was doing or what was expected of me.
We had a full week of training on financial products, which in my case was extremely valuable as I don't come from a finance background. Support and guidance were present along the way, we had regular additional training sessions and overall I felt like there was a lot of effort put into our training.

Company Parties/Events
Future employment prospects at MUFG sound like every grad's dream job! There is a range of areas you can go into, flexibility in terms of internal rotations and transfers, as well as the international nature of the business which entails amazing travel opportunities.
The Culture
I can honestly say that I have made true friends amongst the other interns, as generally there was a common trend of everyone being extremely respectful and fun to be around!
London can be quite expensive in terms of travel expenses and accommodation, as well as socialising, but at the same the time the benefits of living and working here by far surpass the financial costs.
London is perhaps one of the best places to live and work in, and that includes clubs, bars, restaurants, so there was a wide array to choose from!
London is full of social opportunities and it is safe to assume that there's something fun to do for everyone, no matter what your passions/hobbies are.
