The Role
I had a great year with Pfizer and thoroughly enjoyed my year.
Everyone was very supportive but equally happy to give you space to work on your own projects.
I had three different managers during my year and each had a different style, but all three gave me exceptional support and I always felt that I could go to them for help if needed.
It varied but for the majority of the time I was very busy, balancing multiple projects and priorities.
A high level of responsibility. However I always felt comfortable and never out of my depth.
The soft skills alone will help massively with the final year of my degree and in my career. It sounds like a cliché but your organisation and communication skills really do improve massively.
The Company
Relaxed, yet everyone would work hard and put their head down when needed.
Very well organised.
Substantial training was provided, both at the start of the placement and throughout.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
International Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Very appealing.
The Culture
Very good social scene amongst other Undergraduates.
Rent cost approx. £800 per month, Surrey is not cheap unfortunately. Going out for drinks etc was just below London prices, so affordable.
Poor nightlife in Redhill where I lived, but London was only a short train journey away.
Yes, for example, I played 5 a side football regularly with other Pfizer colleagues.
