The Role
I would describe it as a long interview rather than a job. I had the opportunity to meet tons of people and to be exposed to different business units. I was also free t go to other teams and ask for extra job to learn more.
They were absolutely amazing: incredibly supportive, flexible and kind. I felt extremely grateful and lucky.
Not too much. It was on me to be proactive and ask for more work, either to my team or to other ones.
I had the chance to run a couple of projects and to be very active also in the most "sensitive" ones. I was also in charge of secondary administrative tasks.
Surely I strongly improved my ability to network and to interact with professionals and senior executives. At the same time, I had the chance to understand more about the competition in the UK job market. In terms of pure hard skills, I did not really develop them in the 9 weeks, but I was not expecting to. Before the internship, I was not ready to jump into the job market and make myself stand out. Now, I am confident about how to do that.
The Company
90% very chill and friendly, with very few moments of nervosism
They gave us exposure to external activities and programs, which was very helpful. we had several meetings with business heads to explain to us how the company is structured.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Working from home
If I would get a full-time position with the company absolutely amazing. Regarding the graduate, I believe that its length and its structure are not optimal for someone who knows what he/she wants to do.
The Culture
Nothing extreme. Good relationships and a couple of pints sometimes.
Canary Wharf is expensive, but it offers relatively cheap solutions, especially considering the average wage.
Good during the week and on Friday until 23.00/00.00
