    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I did really enjoy my placement at LBG. My team was really friendly and welcoming and helped me to fit into role quickly and easily. The kind and helpful culture at LBG made the whole experience an enjoyable one and I think I was matched to a role that really suited me and was one I loved.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Definitely. I was given proper tasks to do even though I was a intern and felt very useful and valued. I was not just expected to 'make the tea'! Everybody in the wider team also took an interest in me which again makes you feel valued and actually part of the team.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support from my line manager and the wider team was always great. I had weekly review sessions which ensured I knew where I was at, areas to develop etc. There were multiple times where I reached out to people to get help and everyone was more than willing to sit down with you and have a chat.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was only a couple of days out of the 10 weeks where I could have done with more things to be getting on with. The majority of the time, my team ensured they were giving me enough work to do but never too much I was overwhelmed and I always felt comfortable enough to ask for help if I needed it.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • 4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I've learnt a huge amount of transferable skills from business basics to the important of personal brand and creativity that will be invaluable in the future. The internship programme provided a E-learning journey which was also very beneficial in recognising and honing my own skill set and highlighting areas to develop on.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • 4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was set up pretty well but there are definitely areas for development. I would say at times it took longer than necessary to get information released to us especially relating to the referral process onto the graduate scheme. Furthermore, our induction event was 3 weeks into the internship which I think could have been more useful a bit earlier to clear up some questions and show us what projects we should focus on during the internship.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • After working here for 10 weeks I think the culture and opportunities within LBG make it a really appealing place to work. After these 10 weeks I got good feedback from my manager and have progressed with a referral to the following psychometric tests and half a day interview process.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The internship provided many opportunities to be able to interact with other interns and graduates and make friends. As a group of interns we often went out for coffee and lunch and it was a very social scene. They provide accommodation too so it is often very social in the accommodation with other interns.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • If you were willing to go out and find them, there are a vast amount of opportunities within and outside of work to be able to get involved with. At the bank there is the opportunity to do lots of volunteering and we even did a day volunteering with work where we gave back to the local community.
