The Role
The company is just great, is a very open environment in which you are able to connect with anyone and ask for feedback and suggestion. You can get in touch with people at any level of seniority and they will always be able to chat with you about anything from work to personal or professional development
I joined as a Summer Intern but I was able to make a real impact in the business. My recommendation were valued by my colleagues and before the end of the internship some of them entered the implementation face. My colleagues were always amazing a very friendly with me, helped me improve with a great support and were always ready to hear my view on the problems the business was facing
I great Manager, he supported me a lot during my internship and after it he proposed to mentor me regardless of my future career path. I found in him not only a great manager but an inspiring leader able to understand people and help them develop and give their best.
The Internship was in Retail Banking. So I have to admit the working time was an office working time 9-17. I had some busy days in which I decided to stay later but just did it because I wanted to work more on my project or presentation even if nobody asked for it.
I had a lot of responsibility. I was responsible for analysing the operations and client service of a business of more than 100 employees and put forward implementable recommendation that would improve operations and customer service. It has been incredibly rewarding to see those recommendation appreciated and then implemented by the leaders of the business.
Received a lot of informal training and was extremely supported throughout all the duration of the internship. Just think that even if I was just an intern I was able to reach out to a senior manager in Hong Kong and talk with him about business and personal development related topic and I am still in touch with him. Furthermore I had a Mentor in the Graduate Scheme and many other employees always available to support my development. [Worked more on soft skills than hard skills but It is also possible to ask for hard skills development]
