The Role
I really enjoyed my placement year at Pfizer, both the company and my department were really friendly and welcoming. It was a step learning curve to begin with both in the role and just with start a 'proper' job itself. I had to become a sponge to sok in all the informaiton about the job, but this made my year even more benfifical having learnt so much!
Every single collegue in the team was so helpful and welcoming. the team as a whole are really supportive as value you as a full time employee, they definetley didnt treat me as 'just' an intern. I progree over the year and was given quite a few responsibilities by the end.
We were given alot of support in the begining, we had a 10 day onboarding plan to learn the theory behind what we do and then shadowing in the first few weeks. I was given increasing amounts of responsibilities throughtout the year and more complex project to get involved in
This very much varied. In finance there are periods were we have quite a heavy but managable work load. the whole team would chp in however to make sure everyones work was done. There are some times of year where it can be quite quiet, however in this time you just need to put yourself forward to help on various projects.
this increased throughout the year, starting with very little as i was getting to grips with the role. By mid-year I had the equivalent responisibility of a finance analyst in my team. I really enjoyed the responsibility and this helped me to plan my own time and make decsions myself instead of asking my manager
I now have a very much 9-5 mindset which will hopefully help me in my third year studies. I have really enjoyed working hard in the day but knowing i have the evening totally to mysefl. i m hoping i can contiune this at uni, I have additionally increased so many skills increaling presentations skills, excel skills, communication and many more.
The Company
Really great! everyone is so friendly! and really wants to socialise, we have had quite a few events this year that we have gone out together. Wemall go for coffees together and have lunch as a group. I think it is the general feeling that we all enjoy being in the team.
The application/interview process was pretty good! and my placement was well organised by my team.
they invested alot, encouraging me to get involved in alot of projects and lead on some too! i also completed my yellow belt continuous improvement qualification which Pfizer organised. and my team was both very supportive and helpful in encouraging me to complete this project of which i was really proud

If there is a space in a year my team has said they woud love to have me back. It is a possibility I am highly considering. as i really have loved both my team and my role. I think having the year of experience is going to help immensely no matter what job i want to go for.
The Culture
Everyone gets on really well! there are alot of us in the builidng so you will find someone or a group who you click with. we do arious things together from bithrday meals to house parties to going to the epsom horse races! you just need to put yourself out there and make friends in the begining
It can be quite expensive being in the surrey countryside but istn inafordable
the local area doesnt have alot to offer. There are many clubs its mainly a pub/bar type of place. however it is really easy to get into london, particularly clapham junction and croydon which are both great places to go! Clapham especially has a few more options in terms of nightlife
you would gave to go out yourself and find opportunites to get involved in. I am part of a church in the area so i got involved in that. and also i started salsa class in the nearby town.
