The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Willis Towers Watson and have gained a deep routed understanding into the Insurance Industry. I have been given exposure to a wide variety of different lines of business and the many different roles within WTW. I can not emphasize enough how welcoming everyone has been, and this really has made all the difference to my time here.
Everyone I have met has been extremely friendly and has been more than willing to educate me on their role and career thus far. I have developed a wide and far reaching network within Willis Towers Watson as well as with the wider Insurance Industry including underwriters. My team was extremely welcoming and I was made to feel like a valued member of the team, and will most definitely be sad to leave. I aim to keep in touch with a large number of people who I have met through my internship and this network will help me enormously throughout my future career.
It was extremely easy to ask and receive support and guidance whenever I required it. Management and Supervisors are extremely approachable and I never once felt intimidated. You can tell they enjoy transferring their expertise and skillset to you and there was an excellent mentor dynamic even between myself and very senior colleagues.
I was often tasked with completing a high volume of work, and had to meet a large number of deadlines on a weekly basis. At first this was quite a daunting prospect but after the couple of weeks I grew to enjoy the fast workplace and thrived whilst working under pressure. There was never a moment where I did not have something to do and it was exhilarating rising to the challenge and exceeding expectations.
I was surprised with the amount of responsibility I was given, I was left to lead RFP Responses for existing and prospect clients. I was really grateful that the team trusted me and my fellow interns with undertaking such important work. I feel proud to have contributed significantly to the performance of my team.
This internship has without doubt increased my confidence and my ability to interact with others. I have developed a strong work ethic which I will carry with me into my final year of study. This internship has clarified that I would love to pursue a career in Insurance and if I am lucky enough I would most definitely return to Willis Towers Watson.
The Company
There was a really good atmosphere in the office and everyone collaborated well as a team.
The internship was organised extremely well and HR were absolutely brilliant. I think the assessment was carried out very well and everyone really took the time to assess your potential.
A lot of time has been invested in us as interns, and I am truly grateful for that. I have really appreciated the training I have received from my line manager and other colleagues and the skills I have acquired are skills for life.
Extremely appealing. If I am given the opportunity I would absolutely love to work for Willis Towers Watson. They have taken the time to get to know me and I feel like a valued contributor.
