The Role
It was a very informative and insightful experience. It gave me a great exposure to the different positions in Global Markets and to the different asset classes. It is also a very great opportunity to network and meet many people in the different desks but also in the summer class, which help building great connections.
My colleagues gave me projects to work on and guided me on how to build them. They regularly gave us feedbacks on what we could improve, which helped me developing my technical and soft skills. My buddies and mentors valued my points of view and my initiatives.
I catched up with my managers on a regular basis, they were very helpful both on my project and on how I should allocate my time. They also helped on introducing me to the desks I was interested in.
Very busy: many people to meet and projects to work on.
We do not have a lot of responsibility and people appreciate that we help them on a daily basis. We mainly work on our projects and work-shadow people to understand how each desk works.
I understood the workings of a trading room and how the different desks are correlated, I now have a clear idea of what I am more interested in.
The Company
Great athmosphere, everybody is very welcoming.
The bank highly invest in our trainings and development. We had a training at the beginning of the summer internship. We also have very interesting talks and trainings during the summer, which enables having a clear idea of what a desk can do, even we are not rotating on their desks.
