The Role
Both rotations were brilliant. Ten weeks has flown by.
It is definitely a very welcoming bank.
Support not only on the job, but also specific future career advice i.e. whether to do a Masters and where
There was always something to do - part of the reason why the weeks went past so quickly.
There will always be limited responsibility for an intern during a trading floor, but my shadow pricing etc definitely felt valued.
There was lots of Mathematics - especially in my second rotation. Overall, the way of approaching problems that you learn on the desk is invaluable.
The Company
The atmosphere obviously varies by desk, but all were a welcoming, fun place to be.
HR definitely take pride in the internship program.
Shadowing traders/ employees was immensely useful, that being an investment of their time. The training was also very good.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Slight ambiguity around headcount and whether or not it exists. Although, they do tend to hire from their internship pool, even if it is not directly at the end of the internship.
The Culture
Very social
London is expensive, that is the harsh truth.
Spent more time going to the gym so not the best person to ask.
There were some events scattered throughout the internship.
