About You
Most of the days were fun as I met new people in a friendly environment. I got to interact with staff and customers and get taught new things but the manager and other members which i found very useful. however sometimesmes I was just sitting there doing nothing so had to use my initiative to think of something to do.
As soon as I walked through the doors on the first day with my dad everyone said good morning with smiles on their faces. That made me a little more comfortable when talking to them for the first time. They bought me food sometimes and we talked like I've known then for ever.
I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do as a career path so I has to ask loads of questions to find out what they did. I found that useful because now I know that I don't need to go to university and get a degree to do my dream job. They gave me lots of little tasks to do and when I got stuck they helped me out and were really nice to me.
I definitely think that what I learnt in the bank I wouldn't have learnt at school. I learnt new skills about the banking world and new term to help understand official documents that come to my home. I know the procedures and now understand why the banks have to be so secure. The information I received from the tasks and the workers really helped me because now I have an alternative route into that career.
The Company
If I'm honest, the insights wasn't well structured. I went to a little local company so I don't think they had a lot for me to do compared to the bigger branches. I was given a booklet and loads of little task which were boring for someone like me who usually likes a challenge.
Everyday when I walked in everyone was smiling. I was always happy to know that I would be going into a welcoming atmosphere because I'm usually really scared of people I don't know. The workers had there own jokes but they made me part of their little gang which was fun because I know a lot of things about them.
I know they have jobs to do normally however I would have liked them to be more engaged in me and help me understand what and why they were doings things.
It helped me a lot. It showed me the ups and downs or the job and how stressful/free the job can be. What
The workplace was relaxed and chill. The only culture was to wear smart clothes with a dash of blue.
Some days were better than others. When I got to ask the workers questions about how they got into their position, they told me which helped me to understand that I won't be going to university to become a banker. However when I has to read lots of information and check numbers it got really boring and put me off the career.
Everything Else
It was already arranged with the school and the company that it wouldn't be paid. That was fine with me because I really just enjoyed coming out school and leaving earlier
The company was small so I'm not surprised they only has a few workers there. Although I did get to spend a day with all of them to see what they did and how they got into their position.
There were none of these. There was a little party for one of the workers but nothing major.
I found out more about the workers personal live's. But I did find out that they all go out once a week
If they were really interested in the world of banking then yes. The staff are wonderful and they really make you feel at home and wanted. The light atmosphere is great and it makes everything 90% less tense. You find out a lot about the different sectors and how banks work together.
