The Role
I worked in an office where there was a real sense of team spirit so it didn’t really feel like work! You do long hours but you get to drive lots of nice cars which is a good bonus!
My colleagues were always willing and able to help me whenever I asked for help whilst I was still learning what to do in certain situations. I never felt scared to ask anyone for help.
My manager was always helpful with everything that’s I asked and was friendly and approachable even when he was busy.
I worked in one of the busier branches but I didn’t feel overburdened - it just makes the day go quickly!
I was assigned certain tasks to complete or delegate on a day to day basis which made me feel like a full team member rather than just a three month intern.
The internship highlighted the importance of customer satisfaction and a business and how the lack of it can have a serious impact.
The Company
Really friendly! I got on with everyone and had a good time at work.
There was a fantastic training program at head office which was well thought out and answered a lot of my questions before going to the branch. It also meant that I had a fairly good understanding of things before my official start date.
I had a 30 day review and an exit interview. In addition to weekly conversations with my manager it meant that I always had something that I could be working on to improve.
Company Parties/Events
They only promote from within so there are lots of career opportunities.
The Culture
We all got on well and there were fairly regular branch and area nights out.
Chelmsford is fairly expensive compared to other areas but having lived in the area for a few years before starting the job I was used to it.
Lots of things to do.
We had branch nights out with fun activities and team building work - with food, drink and activities all funded by the company.
