The Role
I really appreciated this internship because it was not only about working and coding but also about discovering the culture enterprise and meeting new people. A lot of events were organized throughout this internship and event after work, we frenquently went out with the others interns to socialize events (escape room, restaurants and so on...).
I was working with another intern on the same project. Even though we did not do peer programming, we were splitting work and it was very helpful this way. I have the feeling that what we done was not only decoration but something that will be used after the internship in the team.
Everyday we were doing a daily stand-up. My manager was ensuring that I did not have any blockers and was perfectly able to respond all my questions. Furthermore, we were working inside an AGILE process and I receive a lot of help from senior developer about code issues or to understand deeper a software for example.
It depends on the week. The first weeks were a lot about set-up issues so it was not very difficult but in the middle of the internship, it was way more interesting and I had the feeling that it was actual and tangible work (code and test framework) and not only assisting meetings or presentations.
Even though it was not the core of the software, I was still working on a test framework that I know it would be reused after this internship. My manager was not at all behind me and gave me responsabilities to code by myself. I also made the documentation of the code and finally present my work to the whole team.
I think that was the best part of this internship: working in a real programming environment. I made a lot of progress in Java language for example and I now understand more the standard about coding inside a team and the different softwares that are used (Git, Jira, IntelliJ...) and more
The Company
Very friendly. Every month there was a social event and my team was really nice. I had the feeling that we were not only talking about work but also about daily life (plan for the week-end, life in Glasgow...) Furthermore I never felt stressed for my work and my manager was very fine with me.
It was very well organized. We had an induction training days in London and it was very great in order to meet new people and discover more about the enterprise values and so on. Moreover, we had a lot of presentations, work shadowing sessions, events throughout the internship and it was not only about coding.
I really have the feeling that the firm wants to sell us this internship and is really expecting us to join the company after. Everything is very well planned and we learn about the enterprise value, meet a lot of inside people. They organize meetings with seniors where they can share their experience and answer our several questions.

Financial Bonus
For personal reasons I am not interested to work in the UK but otherwise I think this is a great firm to start its career. There is a social mobility and after 2 years, we can go to another office in the world. Moreover, there is a great enterprise value.
The Culture
Everyone was very friendly, there was no competition at all. Moreover, we usually go out for the drink or social activities like escape room, trips in Scotland. I have the feeling that being with them was not only about work but also about daily life and I definetely met good friends .
It was really OK. Glasgow is far cheaper compare to London so the housing and drinking, nightclubing was not that expensive. Furthermore, I am used to live in Paris so I think that the cost of live was way cheaper in Glasgow. There was also a bonus compensation for the accomodation which was very good.
Even though this is not the nightlife in London, Glasgow is still cool to go out by night. There are a lot of students in the city so it is pretty nice. Moreover, I have the feeling that Glasgow is a very secure and safe city compare to other places in the UK.
Yes, most of the time we were going out for a drink with other interns. Moreover, we also organized some trips to discover Scotland and social events as well (escape rooms, restaurants). I met a lot of good friends there and share a lot of good memories with them. We also practiced sports (gym, playing football and so on.)
