The Role
Enjoyed the placement a lot. There were some areas of work that were more enjoyable than others, but on the whole it interested me. It was a friendly environment where I felt my work was valued.
I was very comfortable with my team, and felt they valued me. Thought that we could have had a few more after work events, but during work I felt well integrated into the team.
There is bi-weekly updates outlining what is expected from interns, and what they want us to learn. This is also reiterated by the line managers. We are given challenges throughout which also help to form our experience.
Every day was different, but on average I had plenty of work to be doing. The work-load rarely got too much, but if it did my team would understand if something wasn't done.
I was given quite a bit of responsibility. Some of the work I did was for live projects and so responsibility was high.
I learnt banking specific skills during my time here which would help me for any career I have in the sector. Also ive learnt how to work in an office environment, with a team who have similar objectives.
The Company
Everyone was really friendly and got along. I wish there were a few more events outside the office, such as after work events.
Very well organised, the bi-weekly updates were very helpful. It was clear to us as interns what was expected, and what our learning objectives were.
They invested a lot. I felt the company cared about my personal development, rather than just having me to help with work.
Still undecided, but my time here has not made me consider a future in this industry any less.
The Culture
Very good. There was a great atmosphere in accommodation and we all got along.
In a capital city so not too cheap but if you budgeted responsibly it was fine.
It was alright - a night is what you make it.
Some things but nothing more than in any area.
