    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Varied, great to spend time with different desks, lots of networking opportunities. also many socials aand a chance to get to know other interns and colleagues on the desk outside of the office. hr had organised many events, from a networking breakfast to white water rafting to enable this and was great fun.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Definitely become part of the team whilst sat on the desk. had many opportunities to become involved, such as overhear client meetings and be asked my opinion. given tasks to do to help current projects and be able to provide my own view and opinion at the end of it too.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Able to ask a question and query anything whenever. Important to know to ask though, otherwise no one knows to help you. lots of emphasis on being proactive and knowing to ask for help and also to ask to be introduced to something and meet people. everyone is willing to help and spend time with you.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Varied, some days were busier than others depending on work load. days leading up to presentations or project deadline were more busy, but generally finished at a decent time. important to be able to manage your time well, projects can normally be done in time however be able to sometimes say no to work and time manage well.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Not much we can actually do with respect to trading and speaking to clients. sometimes given admin which would benefit trading or interaction with clients. projects and tasks are often simulations of what is really done so you are able to take responsibility in an indirect way. but otherwise not so much.

    1/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • became much more confident and better at public speaking, technical skills improved greatly. presentations were a weak side for me and I was always terrified, but given many chances to practice before hand with every member of the team and help me build confidence before the real thing. degree in econ helped somewhat, but not necessary.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • friendly, wholesome, everyone is wiling to help and works hard. work hard play hard is definitely a motto to follow. everyone has a goal and is wiwlling to spend time helping you achieve your own goal and make the most of your time during the internship in any way possible.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 2 rotations organised beforehand. we attended a desk fair in may and were able to meet reps from each desk and understand what everyone did first. then put down our choices and a week later we were told what our rotations would be. would have liked to know earlier how long we would spend on each rotation and when we would rotate though

    3/5
