The Role
I really enjoyed my Summer Internship. During the time spent at UBS I met and worked with a lot of interesting and clever people. I continuously learnt new thing.
I felt really welcomed by my team and I managed to fit in really easily. Everyone has been really nice and always took the time to answer to my questions and teach me.
My buddy and line manager were very helpful. Over the summer, they always tried to give me advices and insights about UBS and the work. Moreover, they organized my work so that I could see different stages of the deal flow during the time here.
On a daily basis, I always had some work to do. Some days I was busier than others.
From the very beginning, team members taught how to complete the task assigned but they let us try on our own to complete them. Therefore, we were given responsibilities from the start but we could always ask for the help of our colleagues. Over the internship, I felt that I gained more autonomy while working.
Overall experience will help me a lot with my degree and with future in general. I did not only gained technical skills but also I have strengthened my ability to work in a team, to meet deadlines, to be precise in the work I do. Moreover, I have worked in a multicultural environment with people from very different backgrounds and nationalities.
The Company
The general atmosphere at the office is really friendly. Everyone is willing to talk to the interns and help them.
The internship was really well organised. Every week we had different speaking sessions so that we could discover other product teams/sector as well. They also organised mid reviews and social events.
I think that UBS really invested in myself. We had a very helpful training week at the beginning and tech in sessions during the summer. Moreover, every person with whom I had worked took the time to teach me something new and answer to my questions.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Every intern got a chance during the summer to prove himself and try to get an offer for the GTP program.
The Culture
A lot of social events were organized during the internship. Moreover, by working in the same floor with other IB interns, was really easy to socialize and for example have dinner together.
London is not really cheap and if you want to live close to the office it will be a little bit pricy.
There are a lot of options close to the office.
There are a lot of opportunities to be involved outside of work.
