The Role
The placement has been the utmost enjoyable experience, I was placed in a niche IT division, meaning the the division was relatively new and much to learn from. Although a small division, the support from my colleagues were phenomenal which has made my placement more valuable.
My colleagues were definitely the main reason what made my placement valuable. The continuous support and socials made me to look forward to come work everyday . In addition my team had a great emphasis on support/guidance, I believe this is a great importance, especially for someone new to the firm.
Support was 10/10. Could not have asked for a better team to support me throughout my placement.
Everyday would be different depending on the client and task. During January and March/April is busy period for the firm, so during those months there was always something to work on a daily basis. Even during off peak months, I would be busy with a different client.
I was given a great deal of responsibility, even during my first client which was a FTSE 100 firm. Support and guidance is given throughout in order to support responsibility.
Not much similarity between my studies and the placement since I am a computer science major and the placement had no programming, which was perfect for me as I did not want to be a programmer after university. A few modules had helped with the data analytics portion of the placement.
The Company
Due to client obligations, I was mostly on client site. However, when I was working in the office the atmosphere was great and had no problems. GT operates an open desk which is made the atmosphere better, allowing us to meet more people.
Placement was organised very well. I was assigned to clients before I started and training was given beforehand for applications my team used on a regular basis.
We had regular training for placement students. Training was also given based on the team you were in, as I was in an IT team, I was given great data analytics training. Other training is also given, which can be found on the internal business school site, which also allows training in Bradenham Manor!

Working from home
I will definitely come back after my masters degree.
The Culture
My team had quarterly socials and socials between placement students also occurred every month or so.
I lived with parents in London, so I did not have to pay for housing.
N/A
Many opportunities outside of work, such as JP Morgan running marathon, tough mudder, coffee brewing and other cardiovascular activities.
