The Role
The fact the placement was in an area which I find interesting
I felt well valued as I saw how what I was doing was contributing towards the final product
I was able to speak to my manager about terms I didn't understand and I was given enough support to comprehend what I was doing
I was moderately busy so there were rarely points when I didn't know what to do
I was given enough responsibility to a point where I didn't feel out of my depth yet I was challenged.
I was working as a site engineer and I study civil engineering. The skills I learnt don't directly relate to my studies however if I were to ever work on another civil project as a site engineer I would have a greater understanding of what to do. However, the skills I learnt in regards to social skills are skills for life
The Company
The office had one of the best atmosphere that I have worked in.
The first week I wasn't too sure what to do but once I was settled in I was able to allocate tasks for myself
I attended two training sessions which taught me some value skills
The roles and projects are interesting however, I would need to do further research to compare and contrast the benefits of the graduate scheme
The Culture
The guys plaid football and golf and the team occasionally got breakfast together
I lived at home during my placement however the socialising costs seemed reasonable
I didn't go out in the area I worked so I can't comment
Yes as the team were very friendly, however as I was living at home I rarely stayed for out of work activities
