The Role
Working at Lloyds Banking Group has been a great experience as I had the opportunity to meet many different people across the bank and learn about the interesting stuff that they do on a daily basis.
My team placed a lot of trust in me and gave me important work to do. I felt that I was really able to contribute to the success of my team.
People at Lloyds are very friendly and supportive of your career goals. Everyone is always happy to give you advice and help with your work and career. I am not afraid to ask anyone for help, no matter what position they are.
It varies depending on the week, sometimes there is a lot of work to do and sometimes there isn't much. But that gives you the opportunity to pursue other things such as volunteering and fundraising work which is part of the internship.
Every piece of that I was given was definitely within my capabilities. As an intern, the time we spend at the bank is not long and so the amount we can really contribute is limited. But I definitely feel like I have contributed constructively to my team.
As I study economics, the work that I have done has limited relevance to my degree course but my internship has given me a great insight into the world of banking which will definitely help me inmy career as I wish to pursue a career in this line of work after I graduate.
The Company
Nice and friendly
Overall development of interns were well considered. But many changes undergoing within the bank and sometimes a lack of clear communication
A lot of resources are available to interns online.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
The grad scheme is quite robust and gives grads a good exposure to the different areas of the bank.
The Culture
Yes many colleagues enjoy quite an active social life.
Same cost as what you expect from central London
I work in central London so many pubs and restaurants were within reasonable distance.
Yes they were.
