  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Thoroughly enjoyed given the extensive exposure to executive and the interesting work available in different departments and areas.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Different reaction from different individuals. Overall highlighted value by members that sought to help and help me progress throughout my career. Advice and guidance were given by several individuals alongside tangible support and opportunity. Some regarded interns as means to do the ground work but it is good to obtain the experience nonetheless.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Independence is required for a consultant so navigating across the firm is necessary to progress in this area of business. Having stated that, the induction and overall guidance given by HR representatives and staff members was adequate.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Sought to obtain experience in relevant areas by seeking individuals in respective departments and areas. Was successful in obtaining projects in my areas of interest strengthening my industry understanding and technical skills. There is a wealth of resources and training courses available in the firm’s global intranet.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Well-structured in the sense that I was given a project with the industry that I wanted to and was given good exposure within my assignment and opportunity to make a difference. It was then up to me to find other opportunities alongside my project.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Supportive and open individuals overall. Unlikely to have access to executives and leadership stakeholder in another firm. General was left by myself thought but sought to do so to explore other areas. Atmosphere depends on team, project and industry and location (i.e. if you are in client site or in the firm’s headquarters).

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There is a wealth of resources that individuals can refer to in the global intranet. The first week consisted in a business case competition which also equipped participants to enhance their core technical (e.g. Excel & Powerpoint) and consulting skills. Personal branding workshops were also provided in this first week.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Well suited to apply for a role within the practice that I desire to start my career at in the firm. Sought individuals in this particular department and they were helpful in providing guidance and support to help me to return aligned to their practice in a full time capacity.

  • Individuals of different departments and seniorities helped me paint a more complete and realistic picture of what it means to work for the firm.

  • Extremely valuable as the type of work I did helped me to understand what I would like to explore and not do further in the future.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • 20k pro rata annually. + 500 london relocation support.


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, there were. Individuals were open to meeting and chatting to in practice dinner, summer socials and other networking events. There is no standardise to get invited to those and people need to put themselves forward and chase these opportunities.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Very good. Adequate budget for drinks and food as well. Some of them were in top-end venues and people were friendly and relaxed.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There is an intranet portal and activities proposed at a project, account and practice levels.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes. Consulting provides you a view into other industries that no other industry can. The exposure provided by Accenture is unparalleled given its scale.
