The Role
Accenture have a fantastically executed Industrial Placement Scheme, which considers all angles of your professional development in a flexible and supportive environment.
My colleagues have taken the time to teach me new things everyday, despite how busy they are with their own work. They invite you to socials straight away, and I feel like I could talk to all of them if I ever had a problem at work.
My managers have sat down with me at various points over the year, to discuss my future aspirations within Accenture. The have provided me with guidance consistently, and I have learnt so much about my options for the future. They were very honest about their experiences, which in turn has helped me make balenced decisions throughout the year.
This company has taught me how to ask for more work, as well as being sure to say when I am overwhelmed. I had a great balence for most of the year, however the time I was not assigned to a project was a bit boring.
The managers at Accenture quickly gauge your confidence with various tasks, and from there they gradually increase the significance of the assigned tasks. On some occasions I felt I had too much responsibility when my managers go on leave and handover some of their role to me. However in hindsight, each time was a fantastic challenge during which I learnt the most.
Accenture has given me extensive social and professional skills that will certainly help me in my future. I will take back my balanced work ethic for my final year of university. Furthermore, I have been coached through how a commercial project works in the consulting ndustry, and I would feel much more confident taking all my new skills into a graduate job.
The Company
The office is a hard working but supportive space, however there are many events to get involved with and meet new people. The staff appreciate the need to complete your work, but also have nice catch-ups a few times a day. Everyone I have met has been friendly and supportive, offering me opportunities whenever they can.
This placement is fantastically planned, with a great induction week teaching you all the basics. You meet the group of interns who support you through the year as they are at the same level as you. Because there are so many internship schemes, the managers have reasonably expectations of your starting skills, and know how to build on them over your time here.
We not allowed to go to full day commitment training, but the wealth of online training has taught me so much, and has given me a great interest in many new topics. Some teams invite you to trainings relating to their speciality, and these trainings are so comprehensive that I feel I have been trained well. As mentioned before, my managers had bi-weekly meetings with me to discuss my development and goals, which helped me build my skill sets while completing my daily work.

The Accenture recruitment team asses you afirly on your own performance during your placement, and take advice from the managers you have worked with to asses your graduate job prospects. I find out if I get an offer tomorrow on my last day - so I am hopeful but not quite ready to put 10 stars!
The Culture
We had a few intern group socials, however the induction week was the most benefical part of this for me. You get to meet the 30 other interns, and I made a solid group of friends who have been my main social life during my time in London. I will definately stay in touch with them all.
Very expensive, but I expected that for central London. My daily commute was 30£, howevr most work socials are paid for by the company, which did help.
Working anywherw around Liverpool street is great fun for after work drinks.
There are lots yet! I joined the LGTB allies and helped at many events. My friends all did the triathlon which Accenture is partnered with.
