The Role
8, found the work extremely interesting and placed me into a role which matched the skill set I submitted to Lloyds. The people were incredibly friendly and I feel as though they taught me a lot through out my time working with them.
7, at first I felt as if I was just doing all the basic tasks, but as the internship went on I got more involved in the key tasks and deliverables that my team carries out. I felt that towards the end of my internship I was doing important work which made me feel more valued.
10, sat next to a grad, Tim Chan, who guided me through the majority of my tasks. I never felt nervous to ask a question as my entire team were all very supportive and understanding that I had never worked in a bank before.
9, I always had enough to do to take me through to 5pm but rarely had too much to the point where I had to work later. A very good level of work for an intern.
5, I got a good level of responsibility for someone of my skill level. Never felt like I was underappreciated in the team but they did understand that I couldn't be solely responsible for an important task.
7, I do not think they will necessarily help in my degree, but there are some skills I acquired which I can put on my CV and are skills that I could use if I worked in a bank again. Also learned about life of working and picked up skills such as time management and being able to handle myself under pressure.
The Company
7, a good balance between hard work and social chat. Everyone gets their tasks done but there is a good team atmosphere and always chat between colleagues. Also had a 15 minute game every Friday morning which helped the team gel.
9, had a laptop and other equipment ready for when I arrived. However, was a slight pain trying to get all the necessary programmes and accesses required for my role.
5, had a good range of online courses, however these were long winded and dull. Would have much preferred a practical workshop.
8, grad scheme is a very appealing option, however I have heard that the grad scheme salary is low which may lead me to apply for other graduate schemes too.
The Culture
3.
3, very expensive from restaurants to pubs. Very unlike what I experience outside of London.
7, nightlife in the area directly where I worked was poor but as I was in London, everything is a mere train ride away.
