The Role
I enjoyed it because I received a lot of responsibility and decision-making power which I would not have expected for a summer internship. Moreover, I got a lot of support from my manager and other stakeholders. The best part of all was that I could see tangible output.
As mentioned earlier, I received a lot of support and people were always willing to help out on work or personal dimension. They were interested in my story and they also shared theirs. Some colleagues ended up being my friends as well which is very valuable.
I mentioned this before, but to underscore this aspect I can state that I received a lot of support. My manager helped me out with work-related issues, but sometimes we also had a chat about personal things that were not related to work. It is great when your manager allocates time towards this.
My working hours were from 09.00 until 17.00 with a lunch break in between. The workload was good, but some days I had a lot of meetings. I would say the workload was very fair, but it is dependent on someone's time management skills.
I stated this before, but I received a lot of responsibility. I was working alongside another intern and we were completely responsible for our own project. Our manager and several other stakeholders were always willing to support, but we had to show proactivity. I probably enjoyed this the most during the internship.
I developed skills that I can benefit from the rest of my life. Collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds, getting the most out of meetings, presenting, and managing your time effectively are important skills that you can apply throughout your life.
The Company
There was a perfect balance between working hard, but also enjoying your time in the office. For example, sometimes it was quite hectic with a lot of meetings and people walking around, but there were also times that we could have a coffee or grab lunch together.
Our internship team put a lot of effort into our summer internship. They made it possible for us to get the most out of it. Of course, this is dependent on the role, location, colleagues etc. , but overall I can state that they really tried to help us to excel and enjoy the internship.
They invested a lot in us. For example, there was an introduction and farewell event with interesting workshops, presentations, and activities. Throughout the internship, we had weekly sessions were we could develop personal skills and they offered other options that people could take if interested.

The future employment prospects are very appealing as there exist a lot of opportunities within this firm. The great thing for me deals with the international exposure. Given the scope of this firm, it is possible to work in countries all over the world which is very important to me.
The Culture
The social scene was great as we spent a significant amount of time outside of work with other colleagues. I was working in the UK as an international but everyone was very welcoming and I spent a lot of time with people from the UK as well as other internationals.
This aspect receives the lowest ranking which is NOT due to the firm. I was working in London so cost of living/socialising was extremely high. I have to say that this was a well-balanced decision from my side as I really wanted to experience living in The City.
As mentioned before, I was living in London so the nightlife was great. Everyday, there was something to do such as going for a drink, going for dinner, discovering the city, doing activities. The social aspect in London is great since there are so many things to do and people to meet.
There are many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work, but this did not apply to my situation as I was busy with my internship project. I wanted to get the most out of this internship so I could not dedicate any time to other activities outside of work.
