The Role
I really enjoyed my short time at Savills. Everyone in the office was friendly and incredibly welcoming from the beginning. Staff actively looked to involve me in work and projects on a daily basis.
Everyone was appreciative of the work that I carried out during the placement. There was a great, friendly working environment within every team that I was placed over the four weeks.
I received support and guidance from the outset. The organisation of networking lunches and drinks also helped me gain an insight into application processes and various avenues through the business.
I was kept sufficiently busy despite the time of year which is typically quiet. In the brief periods where there was no work for me to carry out I was able to work on my own summer scheme project.
I was left with a fair amount of responsibility and I always felt as though my work was being used and appreciated.
I enjoyed picking up knowledge of the property industry and feel as though it will prove invaluable as I come to apply for jobs and progress into a career.
The Company
The atmosphere was great, every team I was placed in was very friendly which I felt contributed to the efficient work that we carried out.
The structure of the scheme was well organised. The rotational structure across each team on a weekly basis allowed me to gain a sufficient insight into a variety of specialisms.
I didn't receive any formal training as such. The appraisal at the end of the placement as well as my goals that I set out at the start allowed me to reflect on my own development.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Future employment prospects seem good and I feel confident in applying to Savills graduate scheme.
The Culture
Definitely. Networking social events including lunches and drinks were regularly organised.
Given that I live in the area, nothing I am not used to.
Good.
Yes, I was offered to play in cricket matches and attended a croquet event for the property professionals of Birmingham.
