The Role
I really enjoyed the placement and I definitely feel as though I have developed as a person. I would 100% recommend this placement for anyone who would like to work in a friendly and welcoming environment. This has been by far one of the best placements I have ever done!
My colleagues and fellow interns were all very welcoming and have all been very friendly. I have loved working with such enthusiastic and motivated individuals. As an intern I have had the opportunity to really develop my skill set rather than do some background work which most internships would offer - however this was a much better insight into the firm.
My managers and line managers have all been really supportive and have encouraged to me put forward my ideas and opinions. They were able to guide me and keep my work organised for me. I have really enjoyed the company of my managers, buddies and team members and am really grateful for the time they have put in for me.
The placement started off quite slow for me and I wasn't given much work to start off with however this changed as the weeks went on. I was given more responsibility and was given more work by my manager as I became more aware or the role. I always had something to do however I have never felt as though I couldn't ask for some help if I needed it.

I learnt how to time manage more effective and was able to learn my own strengths and weaknesses. Overall I learnt to put my problem solving skills to the test and was able to show this through the projects I was involved with. My degree did however assist me with the work I was involved with.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office was always very positive. There was always something fun going on such as social meetings and a chance to grab some food. The overall energy in the office has always been friendly and uplifting - definitely a place I would love to work full-time.
The overall set up of the internship was organised from the day I submitted my application to the day I terminated. I was always kept updated on the progress of my application and given material to follow through the process. I was given information before I had even started which was very useful and helped me find my feet as soon as I started.
In terms of personal training, Centrica provided us with lots of different tools, events and experiences to develop our own personal skills and attributes which covered a wide range. Majority of the events were al very engaging and fun yet still allowed for personal growth. Alongside this, we were also given the opportunity to take part in some excel training workshops.

The future employment prospects within the organisation have been great and there is a real sense of achievement and growth. Everyone wants to see you succeed which is a real morale boost and the supportive nature of the other employees really helps this process of developing personal attributes to become a better suited candidate.
The Culture
There is a great opportunity for employees to have a social scene within Centrica. There are very frequent social events which many employees attend. For example, barbeques, days out in the city, fun scavenger eggs hunts, pub crawls and more! There is definitely opportunity to have some free time and bond with others.
