The Role
Really enjoyed the opportunity and met some enthusiastic and motivated people.
At the start as always I felt out of my depth but then started to develop my skills and felt I became a valuable member of the team
My manager and colleagues helped at every opportunity they could.
Very busy and felt that this made me pick up more motivation to get things done and enhance my knowledge.
Lots of responsibility within my small team.
I did not develop skills that were specifically relevant to my course but did progress in skills that I can use in life such as time keeping and working under pressure.
The Company
Always a good laugh to be had during the working day.
Wasn't very organised to start with but had a job role within the business so that was good.
They tried to do everything that they could to help me with my work for university while on placement.
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working under the biggest retailer in the world the opportunities to progress in your career are incredible and a definate option to progress as a person are also there.
The Culture
I saw the other placement students but it was mostly as a team that we went out. There was also good banter at work between the colleagues in supply and trading.
Leeds isn't expensive at all but I also lived at home which helped.
Leeds is a good night out.
There are many different sporting activities to get out of working in Leeds and different gyms and sports clubs to get involved in.
