    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • first two weeks were very interesting; after a while realised I was treated like a burden. work wasn't used for anything, it was given to simply keep me busy. the internship took up my entire summer. after a difficult year at uni, I resent this.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I could have not been there and it would have made no difference.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • First three weeks had weekly catch ups and meetings after that my manager just cancelled every weekly meeting we had. there was no guidance with regards to my work, or how I should develop myself. when I asked questions the response I was given involved a rolling of the eyes from my manager.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • everything for me to do was thought of on the spot, mainly to keep me busy.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • was invited to go to another part of the country to visit another area of the bank, other interns were allowed to go. My manager wasn't willing to take money out of the teams cost centre for me to go.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I want to work in science. In all honesty my experience hasn't put me off working for LBG, I know my experience isn't representative of most internships here. I was unfortunate to be placed where I was, although the area of work really interests me.
