The Role
The internship was really well organised. There were several activities planned, including; social events (e.g. Crystal Maze icebreaker), Meet our leaders (e.g. Meeting CEO of GVC) and Lunch and learn sessions (Getting an insight into varies divisions in the business).
My manager and supervisor were usually extremely busy and hence I was really reluctant in asking for guidance. However, they always made a point that I should not be afraid to ask for help. Additionally, no training was given, hence it took a while until I got a hold of their software infrastructure.
The beginning of the internship involved independent study, I was only given task towards the last few weeks and it was a slow progress due to busy workers.
Was only given a task towards the end of the internship.
The Company
Everyone in my team were really friendly, and as a whole the offices had a very comfortable environment. No strict dress code. I never met a single person who was rude or unhelpful.
Aside from the individual role organisation whom managers had to organise, the overall internship was extremely well thought out, very innovative and fun.
In terms of the individual role I did not receive any personal training. But, aside from that work, we also had to dedicate 20% of our time for a team project, which ended in a dragons den presentation. For that, the firm invested in us by hiring 2 effective professional public speakers. Both were extremely useful and insightful, full of energy and put effort into getting to know us as individuals.
