The Role
Overall a very enjoyable experience.
I felt very valued by my colleagues.
Varies wildly; not much of a common standard across the Office. In my experience line management has been good, but I could've just gotten lucky.
There were things to do, but maybe not enough.
A lot of it came from me going out and asking for things to do myself.
Some were skills I already had, but at least now I have concrete examples of workplace skills.
The Company
Very laid-back. So many cakes and chocolates on a near-daily basis!
Good, could've been better. Seemed to start off strong and then weakened over the year.
They were willing to give me whatever I could justify really.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Very appealing, particularly for economists.
The Culture
Decent, though I didn't interact with fellow students so much as with permanent colleagues.
Cardiff is affordable for a big city.
Unsure, didn't really get involved.
Some opportunities to get involved outside of work, though obviously more targeted at the permanent staff.
