The Role
I absolutely loved my internship with Grant Thornton this summer. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish.
I felt really valued by my colleagues. Everyone treated me like a needed part of the team and like I could fit in so easily.
I was given constant guidance by management throughout to ensure I felt comfortable and was enjoying the internship.
I was really busy on a daily basis, there was always something that was needing done - as long as I showed how keen I was.
I was provided with a lot of vital responsibility during my internship. Although this seemed daunting at first it provided me with amazing experience.
I think that the training I received will be extremely helpful in my auditing courses this year as well as when I start my graduate job with Grant Thornton next year.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office was that everyone was happy to come to work each day as they enjoyed their colleagues company as well as the work they were doing.
It was very well organised from start to finish with weekly plans of what I would be doing.
The firm invested in me majorly, ensuring I had an all round experience of working in every environment and learning as much as possible in such a short period of time.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I have accepted my offer of a graduate job beginning after my degree ends.
The Culture
By the end of the internship the Scotland Grant Thornton team were like a massive family after all of the socialising that had occurred between us all.
It was fairly cheap to socialise with the Grant Thornton team in Scotland and it was subsidised on our trip to London.
Both Edinburgh and Glasgow have a fantastic nightlife, as well as London when we went down for the conference.
Yes lots of opportunities, on our first week we got invited on a boat cruise across Loch Lomond. This was only one opportunities out of lots.
