The Role
I was expected to work hard, but the team I worked alongside were friendly and the atmosphere in the office was generally pretty positive.
I felt like a part of the team pretty much from day one.
My manager was also my mentor; we had regular catch-ups and opportunities to share feedback. There was also a dedicated support network for interns.
Probably slightly too busy some days - this being said, I could have asked for a lower workload.
A total mix. Some projects I got total ownership of, other days would be spent doing data entry or similar tasks.
Great experience and really useful for my CV.
The Company
Generally relaxed; not a lot of perks, but it is a charity after all.
Great support network with thorough inductions to the company and support with admin.
CV and Interview technique training day was really useful.
I think I would stand a decent chance of working within CRUK after the internship, but it is not what I want to do long term.
The Culture
The social side was relatively muted.
Definitely not aimed at the intern pocket...
