The Role
I thought it was good. The FCA gives you the opportunity to work in lots of different areas so you get a clear understanding of what you like and what you don't like. The culture is also really good as they make it a point for you to have a good work-life. Everyone is also really nice and welcoming.
My team gave me a good level of work and checked throughout that this was not too much and that I fully understood what I was doing. Working on my own part of a larger project meant I felt the work I was doing was genuinely important. My colleagues would come to me with questions about my specific area which made it feel worthwhile and significant.
I felt really well supported throughout by my supervisor. We had regular meetings (about every 3 weeks) to discuss how I was doing and my level of work. Where my work died down a little, my supervisor ensured that my team were taking me to plenty of meetings or allowing me to pitch in with other projects.
My work came in bouts where I was busy while other days were calmer. It really depended on our deadlines we had as a team. Where I didn't have as much to do, my supervisor would always ensure I found work whether that be through going to meetings or pitching on different projects.
It's very good to learn how to apply the work you're doing into practical work. You develop a lot of different skills and as you are given the opportunity to shadow different areas you can apply it to a lot of different work. Its also just useful to be in work environment and get into the routine of it.
The Company
It's a really good atmosphere. Everyone is very relaxed and very nice. The intern group is really nice so you become friends in work as well as out of work. It can be stressful sometimes where you may have a deadline but nothing too bad as everyone is really supportive.

The Culture
Yes it was really good. two of the interns are elected as social or fun reps if you will. These two organise regular socials - dinner/drinks - so it is really really really really really FUN FUN FUN. I would definitely recommend it a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot
it's expensive cos its London but not Canary wharf prices any longer. The cost of living, the cost of eating, the cost of drinking, shopping, exercising and the cost of travel can all be quite expensive to be honest but everywhere in London is expensive so don't worry at all.
Yes there is a gym, there is a pool, there is many many shops in the nearby shopping centre, loads of great restaurants, loads of bars. You can go on walks around the park and ride the swans in the river. You can also go bowling and play ping pong.
