The Role
Quite enjoyable - overall very good experience.
I felt like my team considered me like a normal (non-intern) colleague - which was great !
My direct supervisor in my team was also my line manager, so we were very much in contact and I was given all the support I needed.
Because I was given my own responsibilities, I was in charge of my schedule. The tasks given to me meant I always had something to do.
I was given my own part of the team project - which no one else was working on. This included data cleaning, research, data analysis etc.
Most importantly I gained interpersonal skills and organisational skills. I also learned to use Stata proficiently.
The Company
The team was very nice and sociable.
Most things went very smoothly. There were a few hicckups in terms of getting laptops/access to emails etc at the start of the internship.
I got to attend several training sessions on competition economics, as well as a job interview workshop. Otherwise, there was not much investment needed for the scope of the work I had to do.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Very appealing
The Culture
Fellow interns got along very well and organised several socials. My team also organised a few socials.
Reasonable for London
The area is in Westfield Stratford but close to Hackney Wick where there are a lot of bars.
There are, but I did not get involved
