    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The lifestyle and social side was amazing, the actual day-to-day job was less interesting, but I have now been moved to an area that does interest me.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues immedeitely made efforts to include and get to know me which was appreciated. The other Interns were all incredibly friendly.

  • My Line Manager, the rest of my team and the grad recruitment team were always on hand to help me if they could in any way.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This was partly due to the complexity of the job, I became busier towards the end when I could contribute more.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had to perform tasks to provide information to others which they relied upon condiderably. Towards the end of my internship I was given more responsiblity as my understanding of processes improved.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt many technical aspects which will no doubt come in useful, but also career and life advice from superiors will also be something that I gladly take into the future.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • This varied enourmously, some of the people in my immediete vicinity were quite senior so usually depended on what mood they were in.

  • Very well organised, with all dates set out at the start and stuck to.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We were given excel training in our indcution week to help us with our placement, and this was further enhanced on-the-job when everyone was happy to talk you through anything you couldn't do.

  • I liked the environment on the whole, and believe I have found a role which will suit me better.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, full to the brim of legends.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • V expensive, but pay in the area was more than enough to allow it to happen frequently (daily).

  • Pretty good, and very accessible to other areas.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes there were, two things that I took interest in were cricket and blogging for the website.
