The Role
Really enjoyed the Summer internship, exceeded my expectations. Started the internship not knowing what to expect however loved every moment of the placement. The 10 weeks flew by so quick and I didn't realize how many weeks I had done as everyday was so enjoyable. There was so much to do on a daily basis so I wasn't bored at any time.
I Enjoyed being around all my colleagues, I felt valued throughout the placement and had an amazing team around me. I was able to ask for help without feeling silly or stupid and felt at ease all the time. My colleagues were funny and it was a joy to be around them.
When I started my internship I wasn't given any 1-1 sit down training on how to do certain things, however I think I preferred it like that just because I am more of a hands on person and I am a fast learner. However whenever I needed help, I got all the support I needed.
Our branch was a big branch so yes we were really busy every day, However I didn't mind that just because the time flew by quicker so coming in on a morning around 7:30am and leaving at 6pm you didn't realize the time flying by. Some days however we were quiet for a few hours however it would get hectic at times also.
I was given a huge responsibility throughout my placement as every day I was in charge of something that's called "Red & Yellow Cars" this meant calling up customers and confirming bookings and getting customers booked in. Also at the end of the day I had to complete the "End of Day Pack". This was important and had to be done everyday.
I would say I enhanced my skills throughout the placement, communicational skills were important which I improved on as well as interpersonal skills. The skills I learnt will help me in the future in terms of speaking with fellow students at university and lecturers. As well as in the future speaking with people in the business world.
