The Role
I have had a great time working with Volvo Group UK. I have been given responsbility and had the oppurtunity to travel all over the UK and Internationally.
I straight away felt like part of the 'Volvo Family.' This is a phrase that is used often, but its completly true. There is a family feel and you know that you can rely on and trust all of your colleagues.
I have been tutored by my manager and other supervisors across various departments. Most people are willing to give you support, advice and feedback. They really want to help young people joining the industry and are genuinly interested in how to help you.
I was busy with numerous projects and tasks involving teams of people across departments. I think that you could be as busy as you wanted to be, if you're willing to work hard the oppurunitys are there, but theres never the pressure to be overloaded with work.
Again, you could take on as little or as much responsbility as you wanted and felt comofrtable. I project managed a long term project so I had a lot of responsibility in this. It was just the right amount, I felt like part of the team and not 'just an intern.'
My industry knowledge has improved dramatically and I will take this to university with me. I plan to focus my dissertation around areas I have worked on during my placement and I now have a clearer idea of what direction I want to take my future career in.
The Company
The atmosphere was relaxed, it was a good level of work ethic and friendliness.
There was a general structure to the placement. You could create or join new projects if you wished you just had to be vocal and ask!
I completed over 10 training courses including excel, presentation skills, business communications.

They are a great company to work for but there is not a graduate scheme so this puts off a lot of interns from returning. Particularly as there may not be suitable vacancies to reapply to in the future.
The Culture
Yes, the interns were all introduced during induction so we all became friends then. I often went out socially with colleagues.
Average
Warwick has no bars etc but Leamington Spa is good
Many meals, nights out etc
