About You
The programme was very informative and staff at Slaughter and May were welcoming which made the process of the work experience not feel overwhelming. We also had time to converse with staff which allowed me to gain an insight into the field they work in. This had then allowed me to narrow down my career paths and what I want to make a profession out of.
I felt majorly valued as I had been given a task within the department . This was to hold a team meeting at the end of the week and present to them my ideas of what could be done to improve the relationship with clients. This made me feel included and not left out.
I received guidance throughout the whole of my work experience I was in the hands of two lovely individuals from the department that I had been working in. They also had willingly decided to ask me about my future plans and career paths and answered all my worries and questions that I had come up with.
The programme had allowed me to develop skills such as team work and presenting skills as I have not been able to use these skills in professional situations before. The guidance I had received by my two mentors helped me majorly when going to pick modules to study at degree level .
The Company
Really well structured. Lots of things to do and a lot of work shadowing hours to get a lot of information.
Fantastic atmosphere and fantastic people. It is a very friendly environment and people are all really amazing.
We had a buddy and a mentor and also a manager who was always there for us. We had the chance to have one-one meetings and it was really good.
Really great way to see life at slaughter and may. Working among current employees really showed me what a great place it is.
Very well rooted to the culture and everyone ensure to implement it in their day to day.
Helped me gain a better understanding of my division and helped to enable my understanding of things. Really brilliant.
Everything Else
Although a pay would have been nice reimbursed is greatly appreciated.
Plenty of networking opportunities not just with the junior staff but also the senior staff. Everyone was really very friendly and accommodating people were genuinely interested in what you had to say and it was great.
Great all round
A lot of extra activities available for staff.
Would highly recommend the insight week as I think it’s a fantastic experience and I throughly enjoyed it.
