The Role
Although it was a placement year the staff treat everyone as they were full time employees and the office fun was a great environment to work in as everyone liked to have a laugh which helped ease any nerves you may have
Throughout the year I met so many great people that all treat me like they have knew me for my entire life and made friends that will stay with me forever
Everyone will try to help whoever needs it you are assigned line managers that you can talk to about anything although the line managers might be busy working on their own projects so it was hard to get the time but you will still get the help
This is a hard question to answer as some days you would have a perfect balance of work and other days you would have nothing to do so you would be sat doing some training waiting for the next task
You are responsible for your own work and if you do not communicate that you are stuck or the work was done, you wouldn't get the help you need to complete the work fully I was also helping with IT support and if I did not resolve the problem a developer would not be able to work
When I joined I had problems talking to new people and had problems communicating in general and after this year I have overcome this problem which is so big for me
The Company
In the area I was sat some of the team had NERF guns that we would use to shoot each other or just use the bullets and throw them to other members of the team, they also had birthday darts that was fun to watch
The company had everything planned out for me so I would have training for the first couple of weeks and then go into client work.
They gave me the same amount of training that they would give any new starter or any member of the team if they thought you needed training in something they would let you train
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
The company has offered me a permanent contract for when I finish university
The Culture
They had lots of social events that I was involved in like the Christmas party that was held in Rome that the company paid for
If you went to the correct places a night out meal with friends was not that expensive but a lot of the places where expensive compared to my home town
The area I worked in was a village that did not have any night life you would have to travel down to Leicester for a night out which was fine as I was staying there
The company held a five a side game that anyone could come and join and had a games room with darts, table tennis and foosball if you enjoyed these. They also had a running competition to help get people on the healthy side of life
