The Role
It's been a pleasure to work for MMT Digital over the past year. I extremely enjoyed working in such a fun and inspiring environment it really helped complete the work.
I felt extremely valued by MMT to the point where being a Student didn't effect colleagues opinions on the work I could handle. I was treated as a full-time Developer.
There was always fantastic support provided by my line manager and senior developers, which helped me develop further into the role while learning on the job.
On a daily basis I've always had something to work on whether it was working on clients websites or meetings.
During the placement I was given a lot of responsibility including creating Alexa Skills for client pitches and deploying my code to production.
Coming from a design background before starting placement, I've now fully moved into the development stack with a solid understanding of Front-end and Back-end technologies. I've also gained a great understanding of Agile and Scrum processes which will prove useful when working on Team projects during university.
The Company
Great open environment.
Extremely well organised we were put into our own Team.
Whenever we weren't doing client work we'd be doing training on the Pluralsight and TeamTreeHouse online accounts.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I'll be returning next year once I've finished final year.
The Culture
Great social scene with Pub club and the many nights out.
Everything was fine with having the local chippy and Co-Op for food.
In Uppingham there wasn't any Nightlife however, we had most of the Nightlife out in Leicester.
We played many games of 5v5 Football (weekly), Foosball (daily) and Table Tennis (daily).
