The Role
I found the work provided in my internship insightful and very educational to the financial sector.
My Line manager treated me equally as any other college in both his expectation and attitude towards me.
My Manager was understanding of my lack of financial knowledge and was very catering to it, enabling me to learn many new things.
I had plenty of real and meaningful work to do everyday, having my diary full almost everyday.
I was given responsibility to contribute to the team in projects, while also working on a report that would be beneficial for the whole team.
I have developed stronger communication and financial skills which will be beneficial when I return to my studies.
The Company
The atmosphere was one which was warm and friendly.
The internship was organised well, allowing for me to network with different people in the bank, as well as other interns. Additionally, there was a long term intern project which required working in teams and developing various skills which constitute for team orientated activities.
There where mandatory training, as well as allowing me to speak to experts in fields in which I was interested in.
the investment banking division with in the bank is an avenue which I hope to explore after my internship.
The Culture
There was a good social scene among colleges. It seemed that everyone knew everyone, which meant that at the end of the day towards the end of the week there were various social events.
London prices are very high for socialising especially in central London. Most common socialising venue would be a bar and drinks are quite expensive in London.
I did not explore the night life within the area in which I worked.
