The Role
The placement was challenging as I was introduced to new software that was used on a daily basis.
The team I was with helped me throughout and did not hesitate whenever I required it.
Anytime I needed advice with anything to do with the placment or the jobs I worked on they were available and helpful.
There are some busy weeks and some weeks where it can be slighlty slow depending on the jobs that are on.
I was given responsibility for my time management and quality of work but everything I completed was checked and feedback was given.
The placement gave me a professional attitude towards work especially in the layout and presentation that will be transeferred well into university.
The Company
The office is small, everyone gets along and have interesting conversations. I would prefer more team and office events.
The organisation was good. I always had work given to me however it was repetitive at times.
If I were to request training days I would be allowed depending on the price, however they were never offered and there were plenty of in-house sessions.
Flexi Time
Healthcare/Dental
The prospects look good for a future job and I am only looking to stay within Arup at the moment.
The Culture
Initially, yes but the social life died down
York is not the most expensive nor the cheapest place to live, you are able to find places that you can afford
average, some nice bars for summertime
There were a few opportunities to get involed with outside activities
